With its vibrant business, health and tourism industries, the U.A.E. attracts visitors and investors from across the world. However, entry into the country requires certain criteria to be met depending upon the nature and duration of one visit.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) offers several types of visas for visitors, each with its specific requirements, duration of stay, and purpose. Some of these are briefly described below:
GOLDEN VISA
A Golden Visa is a special Visa with a validity of five to ten years issued to exceptional individuals to settle and work in the U.A.E. and become a part of the U.A.E. success story. It is issued to investors, entrepreneurs, outstanding students with promising academic capabilities and talented individuals that meet certain requirements of the specific Visa category.
VISIT / TOURIST VISA
A Visit or Tourist Visa is a type of Visa that allows visitors to enter the UAE for tourism purposes, such as visiting family or friends, sightseeing, or attending events or exhibitions. This type of Visa is usually obtained by the visitor directly, through a sponsor or a travel agency.
The UAE offers several types of Visit or Tourist VISAs, including
30-day Tourist Visa: This Visa allows visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days.
60-day Tourist Visa: This Visa allows visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days.This Visa allows visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days.
90-day tourist Visa :This Visa allows individuals to sponsor family or relatives to visit and stay in the UAE for up to 90 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days.
Multiple-entry tourist Visa : This Visa allows visitors to enter and exit the UAE multiple times within a specific period, usually six months to five years.
RESIDENCE VISA
A Residence Visa is a type of Visa that allows foreigners to live and work or study in the UAE. It is usually obtained through sponsorship by a UAE employer or a family member who is a UAE resident. The U.A.E. offers various types of residence visas:
Employment Visa: This type of Visa is issued to foreign nationals who have been offered a job by a company in the UAE. The employer is responsible for sponsoring the employee’s Visa and arranging for the necessary paperwork.
Investor Visa: This type of Visa is issued to foreign investors who wish to start a business in the UAE. The investor must meet certain criteria, such as having a certain amount of capital and investing in a specific industry.
Real Estate Investor Visa: This type of Visa is issued to foreign nationals who buy / invest in real estate in the UAE. The investor must meet certain criteria, such as having a certain amount of capital.
Family Visa: This type of Visa is issued to the family members of UAE residents or nationals. The sponsor must be a UAE resident or national and must meet certain financial requirements.
Retirement Visa:This type of Visa is issued to retirees who wish to live in the UAE. The applicant must meet certain age and financial requirements.
Student Visa:This type of Visa is issued to foreign students who wish to study in the UAE. The student must be accepted into a recognized educational institution in the UAE.
In the United Arab Emirates, immigration procedures are carried out in accordance with the regulations set by the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), which operate through various channels such as AMER centers and immigration branches.
